TABLE OF CONTENTS Tab & Emergency Prep Binder Explanation

The goal of this binder is to give everyone a starting point. You can customize it to better suit your needs and various levels but hopefully it breaks things down enough to help you compartmentalize your preparedness categories. In a serious emergency, you most likely won't be able to hop onto the internet to google information you might need so it is important to have a hard copy of useful information organized and easily accessible, ideally with your important documents included all in one place as well. Think about the things you would need to know in various emergency scenarios. The goal is to fill this binder with everything you'd need to reference like contacts, addresses, medical and first aid educational material, etc.

SCENARIO TO CONSIDER: DAM FAILURE & FLOOD ZONES

    I’m sure many of us have looked up at the Castaic Lake Dam and wondered what would happen if it failed. Could an earthquake take it out? Could age, wear, and tear or poor engineering eventually cause it to fail? Could flooding overwhelm it like the Oroville Dam in 2017? The answer is sadly "yes," to all of the above. It can fail.
